Personality of the Week
Lara O. Badmus is a Lawyer and principal owner of Lara Law – a “start-up law practice” which commenced operations in March of this year. The Lara Law team is currently comprised of the principal lawyer (Lara) paralegals and legal interns, a general consultant, and other legal collaborators. Lara Law serves primarily South Winnipeg, in the areas of Commercial Law, Real Estate, Family Law and Wills & Estate legal practice.
Prior to Canada, Lara practiced for about 15 years in her home country (Nigeria) and, upon being called to the Bar in Canada, she has been in practice for over 13 years.
Lara’s past roles as an employee include work as discipline counsel at the Law Society of Manitoba, and as Whistleblower Investigator at the Manitoba Ombudsman for a combined period of approximately 9 years – in ethical compliance oversight roles.
Lara returned to her first love (legal practice) 4 years ago in association with a Colleague, before starting Lara Law.
Notable fact, she is the First Nigerian Immigrant female lawyer called to the Manitoba Bar. Fun fact, she’s a lover of fashion and plans to attend New York or Paris Fashion Week.
