Congratulations to Segun Olude – New President of Design professionals of Canda (DESCAN) Winnipeg!
The Nigerian Association of Manitoba Inc. (NAMI) proudly congratulates Segun Olude CDP on his appointment as the new President of the Design Professionals of Canada (DesCan), Winnipeg Chapter.
Segun succeeds Van De Walle, who served with distinction for over five years. A long-standing member of DesCan since the late 1990s, Segun brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and leadership to the role. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the organization through his work on the Education Committee, Membership Committee, and the National Ethics Committee.
A seasoned graphic designer and educator, Segun has developed compelling brands and identities for individuals, businesses, and institutions. His work includes packaging and communication materials for corporate clients and international NGOs, as well as co-designing several Canadian postage stamps while at Circle (now Tétro).
Segun is also an author and cultural advocate, having penned a visually rich book on the Yorùbá language and culture. His passion for design extends into academia, where he has taught a wide range of courses -including Graphic Design Studio and Design Theory at the University of Manitoba. Through mentorship, public seminars, and virtual presentations, Segun continues to empower new generations of creatives in Nigeria and around the world.
Known for his love of typography and world languages, Segun’s work exemplifies the rich fusion of design and cultural storytelling.
We celebrate this well-deserved milestone and wish Segun Olude a successful and impactful tenure as DesCan Winnipeg President.
