NAMI Passport Intervention: Making a Difference
What began as an initiative to make passport renewal easier for Nigerians in Manitoba has become a powerful story of community, service, and impact. Following the NAMI Passport Intervention Program, members have been sharing heartwarming feedback and celebrating the quick turnaround, with many receiving their passports within days of their capture.
We are especially grateful to the super volunteers who worked tirelessly, often around the clock, to coordinate, support, and ensure the program ran smoothly from start to finish. Your dedication, patience, and commitment to serving our community made this initiative a success.
To everyone who participated and took the time to share your feedback, thank you for trusting NAMI. Your testimonies remind us of the difference we can make when we come together as a community.

A Memorable NAMI Family Picnic 2026
What. A. Day!
The 2026 NAMI Family Picnic was one for the books, bringing together hundreds of Nigerians and friends of Nigeria from across Manitoba for an unforgettable afternoon filled with laughter, delicious food, music, dancing, friendship, and plenty of Naija community spirit!
And let’s talk about the games! The competition was SUPER! From the cheers and laughter to the friendly rivalry, everyone came ready to have a great time. But the highlight? The Tug of War! It was so intense that parents were literally getting down on the floor and giving it everything they had!
And according to information reaching our news desk…THE WOMEN WON! See videos for yourself.
Meanwhile, the children had a blast on the bouncy castle, families reconnected, newcomers made new friends, and everyone enjoyed the delicious barbecue, lively music, dancing, and networking. It was truly a beautiful celebration of family, friendship, and our vibrant Nigerian culture.
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers, sponsors, vendors, partners, our elders and every NAMI member who contributed their time, resources, and energy to make this event such a success.
From the games to the laughter, from the food to the fellowship, the 2026 NAMI Family Picnic reminded us once again that there is nothing like the Naija spirit! Together, we continue to build a stronger, more connected, and vibrant Nigerian community in Manitoba.
Until the next one… keep the Naija spirit alive!
