Happy New Year from the desk of NAMI’s President

Dear Distinguished Community Members,

Happy New Year!

On behalf of the Executive Committee, I am using this opportunity  to thank you all for your generous support last year and what we hope to achieve together this new year.

In 2023, we will keep promoting our voice in championing active participation and engaging Nigerians in corporate governance, civic responsibilities, and political process in Manitoba. With our team, we want NAMI to be the first contact and support system for all Nigerians in Manitoba, and yes, we are ready to support this reality! We are imploring more members’ participation with their involvements as volunteers/donors  from community leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals to socio- cultural groups, to get more acquainted with NAMI for a better outreach. And I want to assure you with our passionate service, this is what makes our organization very inclusive and so exceptional in Manitoba. We are hoping for togetherness and a better life together as a community in this new year.

With over 6,000 Nigerians and still growing population, our community is now ranked among top 5 in Manitoba; and with this we are now a winning voice in social capital from civic responsibilities, political process to other subtleties in Manitoba. We want Nigerian new immigrants, professionals, skilled and unskilled workers, international students, and visitors to have access to us for service and support at various levels of  their needs. We will continue to consolidate on our relationship with the Nigerian High Commission, Ottawa which has been very outstanding in citizen diplomacy. We will continue to work on this for better service.

Once again, happy new year and may we all enjoy a happy, healthy, and safe 2023.

Wilson Akinwale, MDiv
