Business Enterprise Support & Training Program

Business Enterprise Support & Training Program is a 6-week business training and consulting program available to all Manitoba residents living on a low income who have a business idea.

The training will be presented virtually on Zoom. Classes are 3 days per week(Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10:00 am -12:00 pm) from February 22 to March 24, 2023.

Recognition Counts – SEED Winnipeg

 Recognition Counts February information sessions will be on Feb 14th at 2:00pm and Feb 16th at 6pm.

Recognition Counts is a program that provides supports to skilled immigrants wishing to work in their fields of expertise or alternative career in Manitoba. The program offers financial counselling, as well as the opportunity to apply for a loan of up to $15,000 with Assiniboine Credit Union, to help with the cost of having qualifications recognized in Manitoba and obtaining employment in profession or trade of expertise.

The Black Business and Professional’s Association (BBPA) and Black African and Caribbean Entrepreneurship Leadership (BACEL) Training Program -‘Street Entrepreneurs’ program targets Black aspiring and active entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 – 35 across Canada. ‘Street Entrepreneurs’ is a joint program between Urban Rez Solutions and the BBPA’s BACEL Project.

The goal of ‘Street Entrepreneurs’ is to raise entrepreneurial readiness and to improve social functioning as a factor of preparedness.

The ‘Street Entrepreneurs’ Program is designed to challenge participants to get optimum performance out of potential, develop realistic entrepreneurial goals, and hone transferable skills.

This 16-week program includes:

  • Experiential learning sessions covering professional, entrepreneurial, and life skills
  • Coaching
  • Supports and pathways towards entrepreneurship
  • Community building sessions to foster prosocial engagement

The Arts Leaders Program

The Manitoba Arts Council funds the creation and sharing of arts and culture for the benefit of all Manitobans. The grants offered by MAC are housed in the 6 streams. Please see the link 

The Arts Leaders program supports building the capacity for leadership by individuals who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour (BIPOC) in Manitoba’s arts and cultural sector. The program has the goal of seeing more BIPOC professionals in senior leadership positions in the arts.

This program is supported through a partnership agreement between Manitoba Arts Council and The Winnipeg Foundation
