Air your voices and concerns regarding immigration policies
We are happy to inform you that we now have the opportunity to air our voices and concerns regarding immigration policies as our own, Dr. Lana Adeleye-Olusae the newly appointed member of Manitoba Immigration Advisory Council.
We will be having opportunity to present our ideas on matters relating to the Nigerian community immigration issues, design and implementation of our provincial immigration programs through the promotion, recruitment, and retention of new immigrants.
We therefore request for your submission and ideas relating to the following;
– Building on promotion to attract and recruit more immigrants and business investors to the province
-Streamlining the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, especially with the regards to setting the right balance between the province’s regional labour market, economic development and community needs; and
-Fostering Manitoba’s settlement and inter gratin programs and services, as well as foreign credentials recognition programs, to encourage labour market attachment, improve foreign credential recognition and bolster immigration retention.
We call on all Nigerian Associations;
The Umunna, Egbe Omo Yoruba, Northern Peoples Forum, and Edo/South-South Community for their respective views and ideas as itemized above.

Personality of The Week
Introducing Mr. Adeayomi Adeyemi; one of 10 leaders for 2021 through the Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM) diversity and inclusion succession initiative (DISI).
Adeayomi Adeyemi is a Chartered Estate Surveyor& Valuer and a Certified Property Manager. He recently joined the City of Winnipeg where he is responsible for managing all City owned properties. Prior to joining the City of Winnipeg, He held the position of a Community Manager with Hazelview Properties Inc. (formerly Timbercreek Communities) a multi-family property company with headquarters in Toronto.
In addition to his Bachelor of Technology in (Real) Estate Management, Adeayomi holds other designations such as prestigious Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada & Institute of Real Estate Management; he is an Associate of Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers (ANIVS) and a Registered Estate Surveyor & Valuer (RSV).
Adeayomi has over 13 years combined experience in Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES), Asset Management and Property valuation (appraisal), commercial and residential property management. He has worked with reputable global organizations through Broll Property Services, the leading property services company in Africa who used to be an affiliate network of CBRE but now Cushman & Wakefield | Broll. Adeayomi was responsible for managing property portfolio for Standard Chartered Bank and PZ Cussons.
Adeayomi relocated to Winnipeg, Canada in June 2019, completed is CPM certification in October 2020. In April 2021, he got a global recognition from the Institute of Real Estate Management as a DISI Leader; an initiative within the institution to recognize exceptional leaders in the real estate profession who have demonstrated leadership skills at the chapter level, advancing their leadership skill at the national level and making a significant impact in the industry and their community. He is the first recipient of this recognition in Canada and Nigeria.

Province Invites Applications for Queen’s Counsel Appointments
A call for applications for Queen’s counsel (QC) is being issued by the Manitoba government. This prestigious award recognizes practitioners for their outstanding contributions to the practice of law.
A lawyer must have a record of outstanding practice, display integrity and leadership, and have contributed to the profession’s excellence for at least ten years in order to qualify for QC consideration. Lawyers who are practicing or have retired are eligible to self-nominate or may be nominated by others.

Applications for the Manitoba Accessibility Fund are open until April 15, 2022. Grants of up to $50,000 are available to municipalities, organizations, or businesses.
